Aging

Sadly, this is the least cliche thing i could come up with for "Aging" :/

(click for full size)

medium: Photoshop painting, wacom tablet
time: 2 hours
theme: Aging
comments: i really hate describing what an illustration is "supposed to be" or "supposed to mean"; i think that if it's done right, people should be able to look at an illustration and get the message/point. But for this theme I tried to think of something to draw other than an old person. It's a weathered Roman statue. I wasn't too into this theme and i didn't really put much thought into it. I'm sure there's a much more creative way to illustrate "aging" than this. And the pitcher she's holding looks kind of like a coffee mug ha.

constructive crit welcome

I agree that this is a difficult topic to think about, let alone conceptualize. Your statue is appealing with or without coffee mug!!... and hopefully your income won't depend on illustrating "Aging"!!

Illustration Friday is wonderful because everyone does as they like an feel in that moment. Maybe people look a illustration and get different messages, this it´s great!! Weathered old statue is a perfect concept about this week topic, ...and nice job.
